Commercial property is proving an attractive option for investors seeking to enter the property market.

That's according to Grant Thornton Property Advisory Services, which has identified commercial property - both in the UK and abroad - as a key attraction in the current property market.

Grant Thornton's Kevin Hines told the Times that the evidence is clear.

"The appetite for property has been whetted by buy-to-let, but commercial property is the new growth area," he said.

The speculation has been further fuelled by news that tycoon George Soros is planning to invest in the British commercial property market.

He has already invested $300 million on offices in and around London since the star of the year.
